THE HOTEL SANRAKU KANAZAWAは、戦国時代から脈々と紡がれる金沢の伝統文化をテーマにデザインされた屈指のホテル。加賀百万石の華やかさと古都ならではの風情が贅沢に表現されたその空間に、歴清社の箔壁紙を採用していただきました。使用したのはシャンパンゴールドのような落ち着いた輝きを放つ錫箔。そこに「藤」「梅」「水引」をモチーフにした優美な絵柄をインクジェットプリントで表現しました。そして今回のポイントは、さらにその上からラミネート加工を施したこと。これはお客様が壁紙に触れたり、何かのはずみで濡れたり汚れたりするのを防ぎたいという施主様の配慮。国内外から、文化も世代も違う多くのお客様を迎え入れるホテルならではの配慮がなされた仕上がりとなっています。215部屋すべての客室に納めるため、品質を保ちながら迅速な制作が必要だったこと。初の試みとなるラミネート加工において、箔紙に変色などの劣化がないよう検証すること。歴清社にとっても今までにない課題を乗り越えて実現された、箔壁紙の新たな可能性を生み出した作品です。

THE HOTEL SANRAKU KANAZAWA is one of the best hotels designed with the theme of Kanazawa’s traditional culture which has been inherited continuously since 15^th century. Our metallic leaf wallpaper was used in the space where the splendor and the unique atmosphere are luxuriously expressed. Pewter leaf was selected and it had a calm shine similar to champagne gold. We used inkjet printing to create an elegant pattern with the motifs of wisteria, plum blossoms, and mizuhiki (decorative Japanese cord). The key point was that lamination was applied on top. The owner wanted to prevent the guests from touching the wallpaper or getting it wet or dirty. They are from not only Japan but also abroad, and more, they have different cultures. He would love everyone to enjoy the hotel without worries and wants to welcome all guests. We needed to produce the products quickly with good quality to deliver them for all 215 guest rooms. We verified that there was no defect such as discoloration of the metallic leaf paper. This work was really challenging for Rekiseisha and we have got over some difficulties. We have realized that we could find new possibilities for metallic leaf wallpaper.
