金沢は彦三町にある、一棟貸し切りの宿泊施設『金の間』『銀の間』。江戸時代の風格を残しつつ現代的にリノベーションされた宿泊施設です。その名の通り、『金の間』には金色の箔の上を朱色の金魚が優雅に泳ぐ壁が、銀の間には銀色の箔の上を黒い金魚が力強く泳ぐ壁がそれぞれ誂えてありますが、そこにも歴清社の技術が生かされています。使用しているのは、中川ケミカル製の箔シート。アルミ箔シートの上にラミネートをかけて、その上から黄金の色や金魚をプリントしているのが特徴。そうすることで輪郭が明確に、かつ立体的に浮かび上がるような臨場感のある絵を演出することに成功しています。箔と絵画の組み合わせは昔からありますが、ここまで精彩な描写ができるのは歴清社の技術をいかし生み出された中川ケミカルの箔シートの技術があるからこそ。まさに伝統と革新が融合した作品です。

The lodging accommodation facilities called “Kin(Golden)-no-ma(Room)” and “Gin(Silver)-no-ma(Room)” are located in Hikoso-cho in Kanazawa. It is a modernly renovated accommodation, yet preserving the style of the Edo period. As the names of the rooms indicate, vermillion color goldfish are gracefully swimming across the gold leafing wall of “Kin-no-Ma”, and black goldfish are swimming powerfully across the silver leafing wall of “Gin-no-Ma.” The technology of Rekiseisha has been used. What they are using is a leaf sheet made by Nakagawa Chemical. It is characterized by laminating on an aluminum leaf sheet and printing golden color and goldfish on top. Through its method, it clears the outlines and emerges in three dimensions and they have succeeded in expressing a realistic appearance. The combination of a leaf paper and a picture has been used for a long time, but because of the technology of Nakagawa Chemical with a leaf paper of Rekiseisha, it actually delivers a delicate fineness of an art. It is an artwork in which tradition and innovation are combined.
