特殊な刷毛を使用し、箔に傷をつけてエイジング加工を施す。それが「摺（すり）箔」です。箔そのものの輝きももちろん美しいですが、傷をつけることでまた新しい光り方が見えてきます。主張を抑えることで落ち着きが生まれ、和の空間にも洋の空間にも同調しやすい、現代的な佇まいのあるものに生まれ変わるのです。作業自体は単純ですが、反面細やかに神経を使う実に繊細なもの。傷は規則的になり過ぎればプリントのように見えてしまいますし、逆に雑になりすぎては品が損なわれる。その塩梅を加減しながらひとつひとつ手で加工を施す。傷をつけた部分に別の色を乗せることでまた新しいデザインが生まれるのも特徴。様々な広がりを秘めた、歴清社オリジナルの技法です。
